Facebook is currently used by millions of people who log into their accounts every day to communicate with friends and family, to network with businesses and to post updates on their personal and business lives. It’s one of the fastest growing sites online, with over 400 million user-created accounts.

Even more fascinating is the fact that Facebook receives a greater number of page views every month than Google!
With this massive exposure and incredible outreach, Facebook has quickly become the leading contender on the Social Media scene.
Anyone who is serious about marketing their business should definitely use Facebook to tap into their target audience quickly, easily and affordably.
Contrary to what some believe, Facebook is not just for college students to talk smack to their friends or a place for friends and family members can communicate with each other.
Facebook is increasingly being used by companies in many different ways to build their brand image, drive traffic to their websites and blogs, get customer feedback on products, manage their online reputation, recruit new employees, and the list could go on and on.
For businesses, this constant company communication works to build relationships with their current customers and prospects.
Although the Facebook profile page is for personal connections, they also have the ability for businesses to create Fan Pages. You can put anything you’d like on your Fan Page (as long as it is within Facebook Terms of Service).
To setup your Facebook page, just go to www.facebook.com and follow the prompts to create a new account. First, you must setup a personal account. Then, you can create a Fan Page for your business from there.
If you already have a personal account, you can create a Fan Page from that account.
Don’t worry… there is no connection between your personal account and your Fan Page. In other words, your Fan Page fans won’t be able to track back to your personal pages.
This information is to ease the minds of those business owners who like to keep their personal and business online lives separate.

Once your Fan Page is created you can add links, coupons, email opt-in forms, events, discussion boards and any other features to make it interactive.
In order to remain relevant on Facebook, you should frequently login to communicate with your fans and make constant updates to your Fan Page.
There are many ways to do this such as providing helpful content that relates to your industry, special promotional announcements, exclusive contests, and even product previews.
Also stay on top of your messages inbox. Clear out any spam or messages you don’t want daily. This way, you won’t overlook those messages that present opportunities for your business.
Once you brand your business and create that powerful Facebook following, you have set yourself up for long-term relationship with loyal customers and repeat buyers.

If you do not have the time it takes to setup or manage your Facebook account, contact me at (918)200-9077 and I will help you get setup.

Just like on-page SEO (search engine optimized) has certain requirements, off-page or off site SEO also has elements that contribute to a website being successful in it’s search engine listings. What you’ll find below is the most common ways to optimize your website using these methods.

Make sure that your on-page SEO is already completed before starting.

Off site optimization is all about link building, and I’ll go over some of the best ways to build links that point back to your site. But before we start, it’s very important that you format the links that you will be pointing back to your webpage’s correctly, and that’s where anchor text comes into play.

Keywords in Anchor (Link) Text:

The anchor text is what tells the search engines what your site is about when they follow links across the web, so your going to want to include your keywords in the link text. Here’s an example of what the html code of an anchor text looks like:

<a href=”http://www.yourwebsite.com”>Your Keyword Phrase</a>Now that we have that out of the way, let’s move on to the link building methods.

Participate in Social Networks

By participating in social networking sites, you’ll be able to put your website link in your profiles and also help to spread the word by interacting with your potential customers.

Post Comments on Other People’s Blogs

By posting relevant comments on other blogs, you’ll be able to leave a link back to your website. Anchor text is handled a bit differently in this case however. In the name field on the blog commenting form, you’ll want to incorporate your keyword. An example of how to do this would be using your name plus keyword: SEO Expert Josh.

Article Marketing

Submitting articles to article directories, press release sites and also posting articles to sites such as Blogger and Squidoo is a very effective way to get backlinks. The real gem to this way of link building is that your links will grow and spread on their own over time.

You’ll be able to either put anchor text links within the content of your article or at the bottom of the article in a resource box depending on the site you are submitting to.

Forum Signatures

To use this method of link building, you’ll want to join several forums in the niche that your website is in and participate. You’ll be able to put a link in the signature area that will appear with each post you make in the forum. You will also be able to add your link to your public profiles at each forum. Make sure to read each forums’ rules before you start posting so you don’t end up getting banned.

Classified Ad Sites

Classified ad sites will allow you to place a descriptive ad with your website link. There are many free classified ad sites that you can use such as Backpage, USFreeAds and Craigslist.

Niche Directories

Some niches have directories that you can submit your website information to and in return you will get a one way back link to your website. These types of sites are not available in all niches though, so you’ll want to do a search to find out if any are available in your niche. Just type in the name of your niche + directory in any search engine to see what comes up. You’ll have to visit each one as well to find out if they accept free submissions.

Guest Blogging/Guest Author

Every website and blog needs good quality content in order to survive. By offering to write an article or blog post for another related, but not competing site, you can get a one way link back to your site.

Bookmarking Sites

Bookmarking your individual web pages is one of the easiest ways to get one way backlinks. You simply submit the link and it goes live instantly. Digg and Stumbleupon are two such sites. There is also software that you can buy that can do this for you.

Pinging Your Links

Also make sure to ping each of your new links using ping services such as pingler in order to maximize your off site SEO (search engine optimization) efforts.

There are a few common characteristics that all good SEO (search engine optimized) websites have. We are going to go through them briefly in a checklist format. By the time we are done, your website will be in tip-top shape waiting to climb the search engine rankings.

Keywords in URL:

When originally choosing the domain name for your website try to incorporate your keywords into the domain name. For example, if my keywords are “mouse pad”, the domain names mousepads.com, mouse-pad.com, bestmousepads.com, and buymousepads.com would all be great choices. I have found that getting ranked for the keywords you are targeting is a lot easier when you do this. If you already have a less-than-efficient domain name, it’s not too late to optimize your individual pages. Make sure and name each page or post in a way that incorporates your keywords into the page name. Another example: pink-mouse-pads.html

Title:

You’ll also want to make sure that your keywords are in the title of your websites individual pages. Having the keywords towards the beginning of the title is ideal if you can manage it, but having them anywhere in the title is better than not. Using the same keyword example as above, a page title could be “Mouse Pads for the Mac Lover”

Keywords in Description:

The description is the small paragraph of text that shows up after the title on search engines. It is what draws a visitor to your site next to the title. Make sure you are using your keywords in your description, but also make it enticing. Think about what your target audience would want to know about that page and then work your keyword into it for the best search engine optimization (SEO).

H1, H2, H3 Tags:

You will also want to have an H1 tag with your keyword in it at the very top of your page. Your sub-headline should be inside an H2 tag and the sentence that contains your keyword at the very end of your page should be wrapped in an H3 tag.

Image Alt Tags:

Any images that you have inserted on your page should have an alt tag that incorporates your keyword or a LSI keyword. The alt tag looks like this: alt=”your keyword and or your LSI keyword”. These alt tags and the surrounding text also tell Google what the picture is about so that they can properly index your images.

Keywords in first and last paragraph:

Make sure your keywords are in the first and last paragraphs of your webpages.

You’ll also want to sprinkle them around in a couple of places in the middle of the page as well. Each page on your site should be made specifically for a keyword or keyword phrase for the absolute most power in your (SEO) search engine optimization efforts.

If you need help or clarification on anything, feel free to contact us

There are many great tips and tricks that can be used in order to make social networking more profitable for online business owners. You may be surprised by some of the tips but when used properly they really do increase your bottom line while others seem like a no-nonsense though often forgotten approach to social networking.

1) Avoid investing time and energy in social networks that will not help you meet your goals. Not all social networks are productive platforms for Internet marketing or marketers. Instead, invest your time and social networking energy working with social networking platforms that promise the types of contacts and results you are interested in receiving for your efforts.

2) Return good deeds. Every once in a while another member of your social networking circle will do you a good turn by linking to your blog, stumbling one of your marketing articles, or giving a glowing endorsement of the services you have to offer. Return the favor. You don’t have to do the same thing but find a creative way of thanking them or pay their efforts forward by boosting someone else that may be struggling or in need of help.

3) Promote your brand with social networking. It helps if you use the same name or identity that you are hoping to brand for all of your social networking efforts. This helps you promote that brand, provides greater exposure, and avoids confusion among potential “followers” and “peers”. It is also a good idea to carefully consider whether you want to promote yourself or the business. Many will argue that it is better to brand your name rather than the business you are in because your name is likely to be the same for a long time to come while you may or may not be in the same business down the road.

4) Do the first good deed. Good deeds are amazing. When you make the first move chances are that you will almost always be rewarded. There are always exceptions and you may not realize the rewards until much later un but there are plenty of rewards to be enjoyed by doing something nice for other people you have met through your various social networks or other networking contacts.

5) Don’t invest more time in building social networks than you do in actually getting work done. It’s a losing proposition. Social network should enhance your income not be used to supplement it. If you place all of your Internet marketing eggs in various social networking baskets they will only end up scrambled on the sidewalk and fairly useless at dinner time.

Remember these social networking tips and you should enjoy much greater success for your social networking efforts. What have you done today for other marketers you’ve met along the way? Start now and see what a difference a few small changes in the way you do business and build networks can make to your bottom line.

If you’re confused about all the above, or simply you need help making your website social media friendly- Please contact Tulsa’s Web Marketing and Design company, Toro Web Designs, LLC for all your online marketing and Social Media needs.

As we discussed in the last article, it’s extremely important to have a website that is built to turn visitors into customers.

The next step is to make sure your website can be found by those who are searching online for your business.

Search engine optimization is the process of ensuring that your website meets the necessary criteria to gain top search engine rankings.

For instance, let’s say someone types in “Day Care Center (your city).” If your website is not optimized properly, chances are your site does not come up within the first few pages. This is critical because most people don’t go past page 1 of the search engines. The percentage of people who do move on to 2 and 3 is minuscule compared to those who stop at page one.

There are actually three ways to show up on the 1st page of the search engines when people are looking for a Day Care Center in your area. If you really want to dominate your local area, don’t stop at one… claim 2 or 3 spots on the 1st page!

1. SEO – optimizing your website so that you gain a high rank in the search engines when people search for your product or service locally.

2. Local Maps Listing – this is the area that shows in the middle left of a search engine results page with a map displayed next to it. Listing your site in the local maps section of Google and the other search engines is a must-have for any business looking to get local customers.

3. Pay-per-click Advertising – this is the area above the local maps listings and on the right hand side of the search engine results page. These businesses claim their spots by paying for each click they get to their website.

So, now you know the criteria of a profitable website and you know how to be found when people are searching for your business.

I’m sure you already know how extremely important is for you to market your business online. However, most business owners still are not doing what it takes to create a complete online presence.

Many business owners are confused and frustrated by all of the hype and misconceptions being thrown around, but marketing online is actually very simple. I will explain four crucial elements of online marketing that can help you bring in more customers.

Website Design

Today, there are many ways to get a website designed including doing it yourself. However, think about how you want to look to your visitors.

Yes… Do-it-yourself programs can provide you with a basic, generic-looking website. However, these sites tend to have a very low conversion rate and most visitors leave almost immediately.

You should have a professional web designer create a website for you that is not only pleasing to the eye but also one that includes the right money-making components.

Website Content

What you put on your website is also very important in order to make it profitable. For instance, your website header needs to include your company name and your company logo so you can create a brand for your business.

Your home page should have a very strong call-to-action so they know exactly how to contact you. Once they land on your home page, they should not have to search around to find your Contact Us page.

You also should have a lead-capture mechanism on your site to collect the email addresses of your visitors so you can follow-up with them.

Any other written content on your home page should be geared towards how you can benefit your visitors and how you can help them – not about YOUR business. Brochure style websites tend to focus the company and don’t offer any reason for the visitor to stay.

You only have 5 seconds to catch their attention so make sure your home page blatantly shows how you can help the visitor and make them want to know more.

This is just the beginning, but we will stop here for now so you can digest the information reviewed in this article. Stay tunned for more information on how to make your business website profitable.

If you’re confused about all the above, or simply you need help making your website get more traffic to be converted on qualified leads or even sales – Please contact Tulsa’s Web Marketing and Design company, Toro Web Designs, LLC for all your online marketing and Social Media needs.

When doing search engine optimization, keywords play a big part and are very important. The keywords you choose to optimize your website for can literally decide the fate of your website and in-turn your online business.

So how do you choose keywords that will bring the right kind of visitor to your website and get your website pages listed at the top of the search engines? This is a very time-consuming task and can be a little difficult for the a small business owner that does not have a lot of experience doing it. I am going to try and make it easier by offering my best keyword choosing tips.

Naturally, you are going to want to choose keywords that are related to your business, not just off the wall keywords that have a ton of traffic. While getting massive traffic is

important, all that traffic won’t do you any good if they don’t do what you want them to once they get to your website.

The bottom line is that getting sales, opt-ins (leads) is the most important outcome of any search engine optimization plan.

Start by brainstorming some keyword ideas that are relevant for your website. You can use Google’s free keyword tool or any keyword research tool of your preference.

If you already have a website online and you are adding to it or optimizing it, you may want to look at your tracking tool data to see what keywords people are already visiting your website from.

How much traffic does your keyword get?

You will want to look at how much traffic each of your keywords gets each month or day. Obviously, the more-the better, but that is not where we stop when it comes to analyzing our keywords for traffic amounts. You must also combine your keyword traffic analysis with an analysis of keyword competition, but we’ll get to that a little bit later.

You can also succeed with lesser-trafficked keywords if they do not have a lot of competition. In fact, it’s much easier to get ranked higher up with this kind of keyword. Combine a bunch of these and you can get as much or more visitors as a higher trafficked keyword.

How hard is it to beat the current competition?

Here is where we will discuss analyzing the webpages that are already ranking on the first page in the search engines for the keywords you are researching.

You will want to check and see how hard it will be to push one of the other websites off the top 10 results and slip into that spot.

Things to look for are:

What is its page rank (PR)? Look for sites with a PR of 3 or under.

How many backlinks are pointing to that page? If a site has thousands of backlinks already, it will be much harder to outrank.

What is its domain age? A well established site is harder to beat, especially if your website is a brand-new one.

Does the other site have the keyword(s) in the title?

Does the other site have the keyword(s) in the description?

Does the other site have the keyword(s) in the domain name URL?

Buying Keywords vs. Information Keywords.

Another thing to consider when choosing keywords is whether they are buying keywords or keywords that people use to get information?

What kind of keyword that would be best for your website will depend on what kind of visitor that you want. Are you trying to sell something?

Are you offering free information in exchange for a click or opt-in?

Your answer will tell you which type of keyword to optimize for. Don’t take this research lightly because in search engine optimization, keywords are vital.

With the advent in technology, social networking is on a rise and how! Almost every individual, irrespective of their age seems to be addicted to some form of social networking site or the other be it Facebook, Diggit or Twitter or any one of the many others being created every day.

Change in trends

The trends in social networking are changing rapidly. The popularity of social networking sites seems to be burgeoning at an alarming rate. Information seems to be skyrocketing on popular social networking, blogging and local information sites.

The dramatic effect of the popularity of these sites is apparent from the fact that most of the top visited sites in the last year have generally been social networking sites. Some of the most visited sites include Blogger.com, MySpace.com, Wikipedia and City Search. These sites are aimed at exchanging information with one another and getting in touch with other individuals, friends and companions.

Benefits it offers

Interestingly, people have even started locating all varieties of individuals; class mates, course mates, soul mates and many others with the help of social networking sites. The number of monthly visitors to these sites has increased by leaps and bounds hinting at their massive popularity among the masses. The combined growth of a handful of these social networking sites has managed to surpass the overall internet visitors in the United States during this period. This trend has also gone forward to prove that internet is a space where it is extremely easy for new sites to break all records and soar ahead on the charts of popularity. Similarly, other older sites can again redirect traffic towards their address simply by revamping them and adding on features most appealing to web visitors today.

The internet is finally allowing the users/ readers to participate and the users need to be utilizing this facility to the hilt. One of the most visited sites on the internet is Google. Interestingly, even Google seems to be facing tough competition from other social networking sites rather than search engines.

Increase awareness = better usage

People are getting more aware of the utility of internet and are using it. They do not log in to the internet simply to scout for information or to complete a pending history project for school. Individuals know how to use internet in order to connect with their peers and remain connected with distant friends. In fact, regular net users seem to be so addicted to the net that they impulsively upload new pictures/ videos of the latest happenings in their lives so that they can share it with their other friends.

When it comes to getting your local business website on Google, search engine optimization is an important part of the process, and with the help of Toro Web Designs as your Tulsa’s Web Design and Web Marketing Company your business will shine. Although Google is not the only search engine to rank in, it is the one that most Internet marketing professionals feel is the most important one by covering around 75% of the web’s online search empire.

There’s two important parts to getting ranked in the Google search results and the better you are both, the higher your pages will show up. These two search engine optimization parts are on-page SEO and off-site or off-page SEO.

On-page Search Engine Optimization

On page search engine optimization refers to the things that you can do within your website. This is something you have total control over and so you should make sure and do a good job at it.

It starts with the organization of your websites pages and links. In order to make it easy for Google to crawl your site without missing any important pages, your site structure is important. Make sure to interlink the pages within your website in an organized manner.

You’ll also want to use your main keywords as category titles and individual page titles. Along with the great, useful content you will be adding to your website, these keyword enriched titles tell Google what your pages are about and help you to rank higher up for the terms.

Now, on to the all-important topic of website content. You’ve heard it said that content is king and that couldn’t be more true. Many people complicate this topic to the point where it confuses people.

Simply put, provide content that is helpful to the people you want coming to your website give them what they want. Make sure your keywords are in the first paragraph, sprinkled throughout and are also in the last paragraph of your website’s pages for optimum ranking love.

Also make sure to include H1 tags in the first paragraph or first sentence, the one that has your keywords in it. You’ll also want to bold the most important words on the page without going overboard. This tells Google that the bolded key phrases are important.

I also suggest using alt tags that include your most important keywords on your images for added benefits in your Google search engine optimization.

Off-page (Off Site) Search Engine Optimization

Off-page SEO refers to the activities that you do off of your website and basically means the link building that you are engaging in. The more links that are pointing back to your webpage’s from other webpage’s, the more important Google thinks that your website pages are. Links from other sites that are related, or relevant, to yours are better; but links are links.

I must add a word of warning however; you will want to stay away from bad neighborhoods online such as spammy link exchange sites. It’s like hanging out with the bad kids; some search engines are going to think you must be like them.

Getting do-follow links will allow your website to receive some page rank from the site that is linking to you. Sites with higher page rank (PR) get crawled and indexed first by the Google search engine spiders.

You might have heard about so called short cuts to this process in Internet marketing miracle products. But don’t be fooled, follow the tips outlined above and you will make Google happy. You won’t have to worry about getting sandboxed and your website’s pages won’t end up in the supplemental index.

There is a process to follow in Google search engine optimization methods, just make sure to be consistent!

If you’re confused about all the above, or simply you need help making your website get more traffic to be converted on qualified leads or even sales – Please contact Tulsa’s Web Marketing and Design company, Toro Web Designs, LLC for all your website marketing and Social Media needs.

When you are first starting out within a new niche in your local area, it can be difficult to get your foot in the door within that niche. Toro Web Designs located in Tulsa, OK can help you achieve the benefits of Social Networking in order to build the credibility that is often necessary to make the sales and get the traffic that you need to stay afloat in the world of offline marketing. There are several reasons why this is an effective means for gaining credibility. Some of those reasons are far more obvious than others. Consider the reasons below the next time you are weighing the potential benefits of social networking against the amount of work required to really make it work for you.

1) Display your knowledge of your niche. Social networking allows you to link to articles, blog posts, lenses, hubs, websites, and other efforts you have made along the way to get the word out about the products you have to offer. Make sure that the information you post on these various platforms is informative, easy to read, and factually accurate in order to ensure that you gain the credibility you are looking for rather than a label as someone who shares information that is less than accurate. In other words, make sure you deserve the credibility before you go looking for it.

2) Offer advice to those in need. There are many times when people turn to social networking for quick answers and fast solutions. Be there and be ready to provide answers to questions within your niche. The more questions you are able to answer, advice you are able to give, and people you are able to help along the way the more credible you will appear to those who happen to hear what you have to say through social networks.

3) Social networking gives you the opportunity to become a face behind the screen name rather than an anonymous entity. For many people online it is the opportunity to develop a relationship and learn for themselves what you are really like. This allows them to make their own minds up about whether or not they are willing to trust what you have to say. The more you contribute in a helpful and non-offensive manner the more likely it will be the you build the credibility you want within your niche. Remember that respect is part of the process and respect others online as much as you respect yourself and the niche you are promoting in your social networking efforts.

4) Answering the questions that are asked for you. Social networking is a bold new world. People are unafraid to ask for advice and opinions. When another person asks you a questions, particularly if it involves your niche, it is good form to answer that question with honesty and integrity. This alone will build up far more credibility over time than most article marketing efforts will ever do.

Social networking to build credibility is a highly effective tool for doing business online. The World Wide Web has made the world a much smaller place. Be sure you carve out your spot within it. For more information about social networking, and how to set-up a plan to help increase your business visibility and increase leads, please contact Tulsa Web Desing company, Toro Web Designs for a 1hr FREE consultation!
